Older children (5+) can explore stories and games independently. For younger children we recommend a parent or teacher guides the first few sessions until they're comfortable navigating the app.

You select one or more phonics sounds, choose a theme (adventure, animals, space, etc.), difficulty level, and story length. Our AI generates a completely unique story targeting those sounds, with options to highlight the target sounds in the text.

After your trial, you can continue on our Free plan or upgrade to Premium for unlimited stories, unlimited storybooks with AI illustrations, and detailed progress tracking.

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. You will retain Premium access until the end of your current billing period.

No. PhonicsJoy is a web app — it runs entirely in your browser with no downloads or installations required.

AI story generation typically takes 5–15 seconds. Storybook creation (which also generates AI illustrations for each page) takes longer — usually 30–60 seconds depending on the number of pages.
